Impatience

Impatience

I’ve done more writing in the last few weeks than I have in pretty much my entire life.  And I’m discovering something about what that is. I’m impatient.  I’ve always written in a short and highly condensed manner.  Eve refers to it as my Hallmark Cards style.  I do it very quickly and then it’s over. Now that I’m writing slightly longer pieces I’m finding that I haven’t got the patience to...

Hey, that was lucky! A few thoughts about luck.

Hey, that was lucky! A few thoughts about luck.

Am I qualified to talk about luck?  Am I lucky? Is anyone lucky? Do we make our own luck?  Here’s a story. I sold my share of my business two and a half years ago and left the business I’d been working in for 17 years.  I’d researched how much money Eve and I would need to have in order to retire, and we didn’t have nearly enough.  I told friends that we were in great shape.  We had all the money we needed so long...

Another weighty matter

Another weighty matter

Pretty much everyone who is reading this has likely seen some of the vaccination stuff I’ve been doing.  I don’t want to write about that again, at least for now, because this is not a vaccination blog.  That wouldn’t be sufficiently chaotic.   However, I will ask that you go to http://redd.it/wd18j and vote up my article.  It’s getting a fair bit of attention, but a bit more won’t go astray. This post is just...

This vaccination thing (or how I’m planning to change the world.)

If you’ve been reading this you know that I started a “Cause” on Facebook last week called the Anti-Anti-Vaccine Campaign.  I had no idea what I was doing, but I’d seen Causes on Facebook, had a thought and acted on it. It’s been an interesting experience. I’ve dipped my toe into a highly charged pond and have gotten my first glimpse into how it works. It’s very early days but I’m starting to...

Alt-med and the meaning of true.

Alt-med and the meaning of true.

One of the advantages of having a blog is that I don’t have to submit to a debate.  There might be one in the comments when I’m done, but the post is mine and mine alone, so I can just tell it like I see it. So, what is true? The person who made the comment states that for her Acupuncture and Bowen therapy are true.  What I assume she means is that she’s had positive experiences with both, they both appeared to help with...

Still a diet seven days later.

Still a diet seven days later.

Been away for a couple of day.  I suppose it’s time to catch up. First off I thought it would be good to mention that the morning after writing my post about starting a diet I weighed myself. I weighed 81.6kg, which was down around a kilo from the day before. My weight varies that much on a daily basis, depending on what I ate the night before or my exercise decisions or something.  I know it means nothing. However. I’m...

Comments I’ve gotten.

Comments I’ve gotten.

I get comments.  The other day I had a rush of blood to my head and started a cause on Facebook.  It was about discouraging anti-vaccination propaganda on Facebook.  No big deal, right? I got some pretty quick response.  There are now 88 people who’ve taken the pledge.  Since I’ve done almost nothing to promote it I think this is fairly encouraging.  The other thing I’ve been getting is a flood of anti-vaccination...
