Sixteen Things Calvin and Hobbes Said Better Than Anyone Else

Sixteen Things Calvin and Hobbes Said Better Than Anyone Else

I've never been a reader of Calvin and Hobbes, but they do say some good stuff.  I've included one below, but click on the link to see 15 more. Calvin: Isn’t it strange that evolution would give us a sense of humour? When you think about it, it’s weird that we have a physiological response to absurdity. We laugh at nonsense. We like it. We think it’s funny. Don’t you think it’s odd that we appreciate absurdity? Why would we develop that way?...

Most blogs end quickly.  The author gets off to a good start, discovers that it takes time and it doesn't continue.  I get that.  It feels like I'm at the crunch point of this blog already.  It doesn't help that I have no big plans for this offering.  I don't have a political, spiritual, moral or intellectual philosophy that I want to spread.  I don't have illusions of being an author.  I don't plan to write an on-line diary for my friends and...

Chaos has to begin somewhere

Chaos has to begin somewhere

I don't write. That doesn't mean I can't write, it's just that I don't.  Even that isn't completely true.  I write little bits and pieces.  In a hallmark cards sort of manner.  Very short; usually for a specific purpose. Like a birthday card, or an advertisement.  Something short and manageable.  I don't explore whether I can write or not. Since I don't write I haven't really taken the time to see if I have anything to say.  I have opinions,...
