My sister-in-law Linda

I received this message two days ago from my brother Tony.

Hello everyone,

I am so sorry to inform you that my sweet Linda, my best friend and the love of my life, has left town. She has decided to take a permanent vacation in a very nice place, a place where there is no cancer and where she can play tennis and golf every day, lunch with the girls, and go to parties every night. She asked me to join her there in the future, and I will.

She wanted every one of you to know that she loved you very much, and that she is sorry she has to leave you.

I’m sure I have missed many people in sending this email, so I would appreciate it if you would forward this to anyone who you would consider appropriate.

If you wanted to do anything in her honor, please consider donations to any of the following:

  • Adoption Guild
  • Queen of Hearts Foundation
  • F.O.R.C.E.
  • Womens Cancer Research Foundation

I want to thank you all for your incredible love and support during the past months and years.

We love you all.

Tony (and, of course, Linda).

When I wrote to him I asked if I could include his message on my blog.  This was his reply.

Yes, of course you can share it.

The six year battle which just ended was difficult, but it brought Linda and I closer than I could have imagined. In spite of the disease, we had a spectacular fifteen years together, which I wouldn’t trade for anything. The grief I feel now is a small price to pay for having had her in my life.

She was a sweet, wonderful person, and I have learned a lot from her about how to live life.

Thank you so much for your love and support.
